International Students apply via "uni-assist"
At hochschule 21, new students are admitted to the Bachelor's degree programmes once a year in autumn (for the winter semester). The programme normally starts on the last Monday in September.
Exceptions are the Master's degree programme (part-time) in Civil Engineeringand the Bachelor's degree programme in Nursing DUAL (part-time), which start in the summer semester with lectures beginning in March and April.
Who and Where?
- Applicants with German citizenship and a German higher education entrance qualification as well as applicants with foreign citizenship and a German higher education entrance qualification can apply directly to hochschule 21.
- All applicants with a higher education entrance qualification obtained abroad must apply to hochschule 21 for verification of their foreign educational qualifications and in parallel via ‘uni-assist’ - the Study and Service Centre for International Student Applications in Berlin.
When?
- Applications for a degree programme at hochschule 21 can be sent to uni-assist throughout the year.
- After an aptitude test, hochschule 21 decides whether admission is possible.
How?
Please use the online application portal when applying via uni-assist.
uni-assist will check the documents for a fee and then notify you of the status of your application. The current processing timescan be viewed here.
Only when all documents have been received by uni-assist and all admission requirements have been met will uni-assist forward the applicant data to hochschule 21.
The university will then invite you to an aptitude test, after which you will be admitted.
Application Fee
Current information on application processing costs (application fee) and bank details can be found on the uni-assist website. Please note that an application from uni-assist will only be processed after your payment has been received.
Further Documents
In addition to the application form, the following documents must be submitted to uni-assist:
- A photocopy of the original and a German translation of the certificate that entitles you to study at university in your home country, with a list of subjects and grades.
- A tabular, signed curriculum vitae in German, which should also include: Date of birth, place of birth, nationality, home address, educational background (schools/universities attended, career goal).
- Photocopy of proof of sufficient language skills (for details see ‘Requirements’)
- If you have already studied at another university (in your home country, in Germany or in a third country), please submit a photocopy of the original transcript of records and leaving certificate with a list of subjects and grades and translations of these.
