International Students apply via "uni-assist"

At hochschule 21 first year students of all courses are accepted once a year in autumn only (for winter term). The courses usually start the last Monday in September. 

For the Master's degree programme in Civil Engineering, the start of studies is in the summer semester with lectures beginning in March 2024.

Who and Where?

Applicants holding German nationality and a German higher education entrance qualification as well as applicants who are nationals of a foreign country with German higher education entrance qualification can directly apply at hochschule 21. 

All applicants who have acquired their higher education entrance qualification abroad have to apply at hochschule 21 and via

  “uni-assist” the "Application Service for International Students"in Berlin.

When?

Applications for studies at hochschule 21 may be sent to uni-assist throughout the year. There is no deadline existing. After passing the qualification test, hochschule 21 will confirm admission. 

How?

For application please use the uni-assist online application portal. When the service charge has been received, uni-assist checks your documents and tracks the progress of your application. Only after the documents have been completely submitted and the criteria for access to German universities have been fulfilled, uni-assist will pass on your information to hochschule 21. Subsequently, hochschule 21 invites you to participate in a qualification test with admission upon successful completion.

Payment and Money Transfer

Information about the operating costs for applications is provided by uni-assist. Applications will only be processed when the service charge has been paid. 

Other Documents 

The application form should be accompanied by the following documents:

  • An photocopy of the original document plus an official German translation of your qualification certificate for Higher Education in your home country, including transcripts of the subjects taken and the grades or percentages achieved.
     
  • A signed, tabular Curriculum Vitae in German language, including information about your date and place of birth, citizenship, home address, course of education (primary and secondary schools attended, trade schools, universities and career goals).
     
  • A copy of your German language ability certificate (for details please look at “Admission Qualification”).
     
  • In case you have already studied at another university (at home, in Germany or in any other country), all transcripts of records, e.g. "Studienbuch", showing subjects, grades and final grade point average, should be presented as authorised photocopies of the originals and authorised translations.
