What is “buxbau”?
„Buxbau“ is an organization which was founded to support the university´s development in Buxtehude. The private halls of residence are available to students, pupils and trainees. Besides providing low-priced apartments, the organization „Buxbau“ supports students in many respects. The friendly atmosphere is a comfortable environment in which the many residents and members of the organisation can socialise. There are opportunities for undertaking leisure time activities, developing the residential area, maintaining and repairing the building as well as helping others move in or out.
What´s on offer?
„Buxbau“ is situated at the former soldiers´ home and offers 86 living units in apartments for singles or groups of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 persons, as well as some apartments for families. The former soldiers´ home has been renovated and has provided a quiet, comfortable living space in the centre of Buxtehude for about 10 years now. The main station and city centre, as well as the open-air swimming pool are in its immediate vicinity. The student halls have on-site laundry facilities, a bicycle storage unit and a room for model making as well as a cellar for parties which includes a football table and a table tennis equipment.
