The New Engineering Degree
Mechatronics ‘dual’
Mechatronic engineers are much sought-after ‘all rounders’ who study at the intersection of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. These are the engineers of the future and are able to understand complex causal relationships - with their broad understanding of sensory analysis, control and automatisation processes they can put their skills to use wherever intelligent systems are at work.
With cross-industrial knowledge mechatronic engineers find work in various different fields. Electrical, mechanical and plant engineering companies are just a few of many taking advantage of this new undergraduate programme at University 21 to train their engineers to a higher level.
There are employment opportunities at all companies with their own industrial facilities. Indeed, it is no longer possible to imagine the installation, maintenance and development of these companies without mechatronic engineers. They are employed as developers, project managers and consultants at different intersections - from raw materials to finished products and customers.
Furthermore, the study of Mechatronics opens up the opportunity to specialise in high technology industries, such as aviation and aerospace or medical and nano technology.
