Health Insurance

According to German law, students enrolled at German universities will be insured in legal health insurances until their 14th term and to a maximum age of 30 years.

 

The insurance certificate has to be presented during enrollment. Private insurances from foreign countries will not be accepted.

 

On presentation of a health insurance certificate from their home country to local insurances in Germany EU citizens will get a certificate of exemption for the university.

 

Tuition Fee

In addition to the enrollment fee (€300) payable at the beginning of the studies University 21 charges €390 per month for degree courses related to construction, €385 per month for physiotherapy and €600 per month for mechatronics.

 

The payment for assistance in the company responsible for the practical helps to finance your studies.

 

Living expenses and accommodation

At the moment living expenses run about €300 and €500 per month, according to one´s personal circumstances. It is recommended that students come to Buxtehude about one month prior to the start of studies, in order to find suitable accomodation. The room rent of student halls of residence in Buxtehude usually ranges from €200 to €300 per month.

 

Scholarships

Foreign applicants may apply for scholarships to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The application will be submitted via the German embassy or consulate in their home country.

Advice

EU citizens can be exempted from health insurance in Germany, if they prove to be insured in their home country.
